According to Executive Director Kim Burge the “Paper Shredding 2021 was a huge success!!!,”.“Both days, the shredding truck was filled to the top. 68 bins which weighed 13,000 pounds were collected the first day, Sept 23rd with 73 bins on Thursday, the 30th.
The first day, September 23rd, stops were made in Cody, Valentine, Bassett and Stuart. The plan was to include O’Neill and Atkinson but the truck was filled by the end of the collection in Stuart.
Atkinson and O’Neill were then rescheduled to the second run schedule, September 30th. The towns that hosted collections Thursday included Springview, Naper, Butte, Spencer, Lynch with O’Neill and Atkinson.
Security Shredding from Laurel provided shredding for both days. Many people comment on their appreciation that their documents are shredded right there on site instead of being transferred, then shredded.
The RC&D is looking forward to scheduling the 2022 shredding days for next September. For information about recycling, contact Kim Burge at 402 376 5842.
