Saturday August 28th started out with rain showers and cloudy skies. The crowd was a little thinner at the 134th annual Old Settlers Reunion at Sparks Nebraska.
Despite cooler weather, those who attended enjoyed the amateur rodeo, small sports and Bowery program. The custom has been to recognize the oldest and youngest male and female attendees at the annual event. Youngest female was 18 month old Laynie Elliott, daughter of Matt and Lyndee Elliott. 5 year old Jake Kime, son of Shane and Heather Kime was the youngest male at the program. Barb Shipley was the oldest female at 73 years old and Lawrence Turner was the senior male at 80 years old.
August 27th 2022 is the date for the 135th Old Settlers Reunion. Make plans now to attend.
