A special dedication of a new flag pole at the Cherry County Fairgrounds will take place this Thursday evening after the fair parade which will begin at 7pm.
The flagpole has a Memorial Plaque in Memory of Harry Stokely for his service to the area and to the Cherry County Extension Service. Harry served Cherry County as extension agent from 1958 to 1985. He was very active on the local and state level with entomology, horse shows and livestock development. He also answered thousands of questions from the public during his career. The public is invited to attend the dedication West of the large grandstand. Harry and his Wife Helen raised 7 children in the Valentine area. The flag pole was donated by the Ken and Kelly Hollopeter Family.
