The Sandhills Open Road Challenge (SORC) will be August 11th through the 14th headquartered in Arnold Nebraska. This is a 55-mile rally style open road race through the scenic Nebraska Sandhills. Arguably the most demanding event of its kind in America, SORC offers a daunting series of “S” curves, straights, and 90-degree turns to challenge the most talented of drivers. SORC pioneered the concept of the one-mile shoot out in 2002 and enjoys great popularity with drivers and spectators alike.
Events include the one mile shoot out, the Loup to Loup river run, race car cruise and show and burnout contest. All entry fees and sponsorship revenue are donated to worthy local projects to improve public services, community improvement projects and local scholarship funds. In 2017, SORC donations exceeded $1 million to such projects.
