4th of July activities culminated Sunday evening with the annual demolition derby sponsored by the Cherry county Ag Society and Wreckless Promotions. Once again a near capacity crowd attended in  the near 100 degree heat at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine.  There were two heats of Old School cars.  the first heat was won by Taylor Wall and Second place was Nathan Flannery.  Mad dog award was Nathan Flannery.  The second heat was won by Dwayne McDaniel and Second place went to Robbie Reynolds. Mad dog award went to Dwayne Reynolds.

In the Limited Weld category, Travis Bostock won the heat and the Mad Dog award. Second place to William Moul.  In the Full Weld division, first place to Travis Bostock and Second place to Nicole Williams.  Nathan Fowler won the pick up heat and Travis Wolfe was second. Nathan was also the mad dog in that race. Finally, in the old school anything that runs event, Travis Roth was the winner in the last race of the evening.  The crowd enjoyed the fireworks display after the demo derby. The event hosted by the Cherry County Ag Society who paid special recognition to Duane Porath who served on the board for 30 years and recently passed away.
