The Valentine Police Department Week in Review:
May 30 – June 5, 2021
On 05/31/2021 at 8:10 am, officers were called to the 200 block of south Helen Street for an assault with weapons. The suspect fled prior to officer’s arrival. All information will be forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney.
On 06/01/2021 at 6:40 am, an officer was called to the Cherry County Hospital to speak with a victim of an assault with a deadly weapon. The victim was uncooperative. The investigation is ongoing.
On 06/02/2021 at 1:30 am, an officer was called to the 300 block of north Wood Street in regards to a disturbance. A 41 year old South Dakota woman was arrested on an active Cherry County warrant.
On 06/04/2021 at 10:09 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of north Thatcher Street. Following an investigation, a 35 year old South Dakota female was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
On 06/05/2021 at 1:20 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop near 4th and Edna Streets. Following an investigation a 62 year old South Dakota man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Officers responded to 101 calls for service this week.
