In an effort to mitigate the spread of Covid-19, Valentine Community Schools will be extending the Thanksgiving break for students until Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Students will not be required to attend on Monday, November 30th, or Tuesday, December 1st. At this time, all extracurricular activities on these two dates will go on as previously scheduled.
All staff will have the opportunity to work on Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 1st. Teachers are strongly encouraged to work from home as a teacher work day to perform grading, planning, and preparation activities. Staff will perform deep cleaning activities of all rooms in the 3 in town buildings.
This additional time off is not designed to extend the break for extra travel. The schools are asking for need from the entire community to slow the spread of Covid-19 so they may continue in person learning and provide activities for students for the remainder of the school year.
Please avoid the 3 C’s – Crowded Places, Close Contact, and Confined Spaces.
