Multiple agencies responded to a large grass fire in the Mustang Meadows area on the Rosebud Reservation in south western Todd County on Thursday, September 17, 2020. 50 acres burned in the fire that was fought by both Rosebud BIA and volunteer departments, as well as Cody and Kilgore volunteer firemen. According to Kilgore Fire Chief Todd Rothleutner, the blaze was sparked when some fence wire broke and made contact with electrical lines. Folks in the area are asked to be extra vigilant over the next couple weeks, as dry weather conditions have made for explosive fire conditions all around the KVSH listening area.
