Work Will Begin on N-61 at Snake River North and South
August 27, 2020 (Ainsworth, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin August 31 on N-61, 30 miles north of Hyannis to 18 miles south of Merriman, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Werner Construction, Inc. of Hastings, Nebraska has the $8,146,996 contract. Work will take place from Reference Post 190+72 to Reference Post 205+74 and include culvert replacement, grading, and asphalt resurfacing. Culvert replacement is planned for fall of 2020. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with an 11-foot width restriction. Grading and asphalt resurfacing is anticipated to begin spring 2021.
Anticipated completion is June 2021.
