According to Valentine Fire Chief Terry Engels, the Nebraska State Fire Marshalls office is still investigating a structure fire in Crookston Saturday evening. The call came in about 6:40CT and crews were on the scene until about 3pm the next morning. The home in Crookston was a total loss and is owned by Dustin McNaught. A couple of firefighters sustained minor injuries while fighting the blaze. There were no other injuries. Again the state fire marshal’s office still has the blaze under investigation. The Kilgore Fire Department supported the Valentine Firemen under a mutual aid agreement. Cherry County Hospital Ambulance personnel were also utilized at the scene.
