The Sparks Spurs chapter of the Cowboy Fast Draw Association will be at the Keya Paha County fair this weekend offering the public the opportunity to try real fast draw. Watch for them Saturday afternoon and most of the day on Sunday at the fairgrounds in Norden. You can strap on a real 45 long colt pistol and practice shooting wax bulletts at targets with help from club members.
They will have their four gun raffle which features a set of 4 Ruger Wrangler 22 pistols. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25. The guns will be awarded at the Sparks Spurs September shoot on September 20th. You need not be present to win. One person will win all four pistols. They would like to thank all the neighbors who visited with them at the Cherry County Fair in Valentine and purchased tickets.
Coming up September 17th through the 20th, the Sparks Spurs will host three nationally titled match’s at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine. The matches include the Nebraska and South Dakota State Championships along with the Great Plains Territorial Championship. Many other shooting matches across the country have been cancelled due to the pandemic, and this shoot promises to be one of the biggest and will be the last event of the year.
The Sparks Spurs practice in Valentine each Thursday evening if anyone is interested in trying it out. For more information about Cowboy Fast Draw, contact Dean Storms, Rich Mercure or Mike Burge.
