The Cherry County Commissioners met for a regular meeting on Tuesday in the Sheriff’s conference room at the Cherry County Courthouse. Mostly routine matters were on the agenda. Valentine Public Library director Anne Quigley gave the board the annual report and there was some budget discussion. The Commissioners passed resolutions dealing with public grazing funds and forest reserve funds. Centurylink was given permission to occupy a portion of county right of way for utilities. Siggins Construction of Red Cloud Nebraska, was awarded a bid for 13 miles of cold mix asphalt and 22 miles of armor coating on the Seneca road. Work is scheduled for this fall. The commissioners will meet again on Tuesday the 18th for a budget workshop at 1 pm CT in the Commissioners Meeting Room.
