The public meeting planned for Tuesday, March 17 at 5 p.m. at the Valentine Mid-Plains Community College has been cancelled. The USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), under which the Forest Service resides, has issued guidance regarding meetings and travel. It directs agencies to “determine if in-person meetings are necessary, including whether to bring visitors to USDA,” and that “nonessential, official travel should be reconsidered.”
The Bessey Ranger District’s focus is the safety and well-being of our customers, communities we serve, and employees. While it is impossible for me to predict the spread of COVID-19, Julie Bain of the USDA chose to err on the side of caution with the goal of continuing to serve you.
The public is strongly encouraged to read about and comment on the project. A map, project description, and direct link to comment is located here: https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=57670. The public can call or email Julie Bain (308-533-8115; julie.bain@usda.gov) or Tedd Teahon (308-533-8108; tedd.teahon@usda.gov) with questions about the work.
