Valentine Police Department Week in Review:
February 2-8, 20202
On 02/02/20 at 7:20 am, Officers were requested to respond to the 600 block of north Valentine Street in regards to a known male subject attempting to kick in a door. The subject was gone when officers arrived. Following the investigation, all reports and statements were forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review.
On 02/02/20 at 9:17 pm, an Officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersections of 4th and Hall Streets. A 62 year old Valentine man was cited for having a non-working headlight. The subject had received numerous warnings during prior contacts.
On 02/04/20 at 2:45 pm, an Officer was requested to respond to the area of highway 20 and Government Street in regards to a woman falling from a vehicle. The 26 year old South Dakota woman was determined to be fine and didn’t require medical attention. She was arrested on an active Cherry County warrant.
On 02/05/20 at 10:06 pm, Officers were requested to respond to the 500 block of west 3rd Street in regards to an active disturbance. Officers arrested a 22 year old female and 23 year old male both from Valentine for assault and child abuse. Nebraska Child Protective Services were called to assist.
Officers responded to 161 calls for service this week.
