Valentine Police Department Week in Review:
January 19-25, 2020
On 01/23/20 at approximately 5:18 am, officers were called to the 300 block of West 4th Street for a person with a weapon. Officers were able to take a subject into protective custody. EMS was requested to be on standby but was not needed.
On 01/24/20 at approximately 8:11 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of East Highway 20. A 60 year old Albuquerque, NM woman was cited for speeding.
On 01/24/20 at approximately 11:08 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of East C Street. Following an investigation, a 32 year old Brandon, SD man was arrested for suspicion of operating his vehicle while under the influence, possession of marijuana greater than 1 ounce but less than 1 lbs, and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana concentrates, edibles and cartridges). The Cherry County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol assisted with this investigation.
Officers received 138 calls for service this week.
