The local Valentine Teammates mentoring program continues to grow. According to local coordinator JJ Thorpe, there are now 39 mentoring matches in the school system. Students must be in 3rd through 12th grade to have a mentor. They could always use more mentors, especially men. There is a waiting list of students who would like to have a mentor. Mentoring takes one hour per week meeting in the school.
There are 3 seniors this year who are eligible for $500 Teammates college scholarships from the local chapter. Mentors will be recognized at this Friday evening home basketball games with Hershey.
