The North Central RC&D met on January 8th for a regular and annual meeting. The board representing six counties continues to promote recycling and work to bring recycling opportunities to the area.

The recent paper shredding opportunities along Highway 20 from Merriman to Stuart, resulted in almost 50 tubs of paper being shredded.  There will be another shredding opportunity along Highway 12 from Springview to Spencer offered in February.  In the future, director Kim Burge will continue to work on electronic recycling, paper shredding and include tire recycling if possible.

The council concluded three months of reviews of the organization by-laws and voted to make suggested changes to update the documents. The annual election of officers was also held. Mike Burge was re-elected President of the organization and Sarah Joy of Bristow will continue to serve as Secretary.  The treasurers position if currently open and will hopefully be filled at the February meeting.

The next meeting of the RC&D will be on February 12th at 1:40 at the Bassett City office building.
