Valentine Police Department Week in Review:

November 17-23, 2019

On 11/17/19 at 2:22 am, an Officer observed a vehicle being driven carelessly and initiated a traffic stop in the 400 block of North Wood Street. Following an investigation, a 22 year old Valentine man was arrested on suspicion of operating his vehicle while under the influence.

On 11/19/19 at 1:16 am, an Officer conducted a traffic stop for a stop sign violation.  A 25 year old Michigan man was cited for this violation.

On 11/21/19 at 8:20 am, Officers were requested to respond to the 300 block of east B Street in regards to abandoned children.  Nebraska Health and Human Service Child Protective Services were requested to assist in the investigation.  All children were subsequently released to family.  The case has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney.

On 11/21/19 at 9:47 am, an Officer was asked to address a shoplifting incident at the Dollar General.  A 29 year old Valentine man was identified and cited for this incident.

On 11/22/19 at 3:40 am, a report of an assault was reported.  An officer responded to the 300 block of West 4th Street.  A 25 year old Valentine man was arrested for assault, resisting arrest and an active Cherry County Warrant.

On 11/23/19 at 4:43 am, Officers responded to the 100 block of South Wood Street in regards to a report of an assault.  EMS was summoned and transported a juvenile for evaluation.  A 35 year old Valentine man  was arrested for domestic assault and child abuse.

On 11/23/19 at 6:09 am, Officers again were called to the 100 block of South Wood Street.  A subject, who fled prior to officer arrival, had reportedly damaged personal property and had made threats of violence.  All information has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney in an effort to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect.

On 11/23/19 at 4:54 pm, an Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of North Main Street for a registration violation.  An 18 year old South Dakota female was cited for No Operator’s License.

An Officer conducted a program for the Zion Lutheran K-3 graders this week.

Officers responded to 115 calls for service this week.
