Valentine Police Department Week in Review: September 8-14, 2019

On 9/9/19 at 10:21 am, a female subject filed a report with the department regarding a sexual assault that occurred on 9/7/19.   The investigation is ongoing.

On 9/9/19 at 8:24 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of north Main Street.  A 40 year old South Dakota woman was arrested for driving under suspension and her 42 year old passenger was arrested for an active Cherry County warrant.  The passenger was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine).

On 9/11/19 at 6:27 am, officers were requested to respond to the 300 block of west 4th street in regards to a disturbance.  Officers found a male had been assaulted and had sustained minor injuries.  The suspect had fled prior to officer arrival.  An arrest warrant has been requested.

On 9/11/19 at 7:21 am, an officer found a wrecked and abandoned car in the front yard of a home in the 100 block of Western Street.  Following an investigation, a 28 year old Valentine man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.  The same man was cited the day prior for vehicle registration violations.

On 9/11/19 at 11:56 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop near C and Government Streets.  A 72 year old Long Pine man was arrested on an active Brown County warrant. 

On 9/11/19 at 2:25 pm, officers were requested to Casey’s General Store for a man who wouldn’t leave.  Officers arrested a 56 year old Valentine man for Criminal Trespassing and Shoplifting.

On 9/11/18 at 2:56 pm, a report of a non-injury accident occurring in the 300 block of north Main Street was called in.  A 65 year old Cody man was cited for a vehicle insurance violation. 

On 9/13/19 at 9:11 am, an officer was requested to respond to the Valentine Middle School in regards to a theft.  A juvenile female was cited  and released to parents.

Officers received 121 calls for service this week.
