A football player from Hyannis high school who was scheduled to play in Saturday’s six-man all-star football game was seriously injured in a Wednesday car crash.

Hooker county sheriff Wynn Wiens said that Trystin Gielssen, 18, of Lakeside, NE, was involved in a two-car accident on highway two about five miles east of Mullen. The accident happened about 11:00 AM mountain time Wednesday morning.

Wiens said Gielssen was life-flighted to CHI Health Good Samaritan hospital in Kearney where he was listed in critical condition late Wednesday afternoon.

Players were to report to training camp for the Six-Man All-Star game Wednesday. The game is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM in Albion.
