Next week is fair week in Cherry County. The theme this year is Uncle Sam, Apple Pie and County Fair. Monday is the open horse show at 10AM. Tuesday is the 4-H Horse show at 9AM and quilts of valor with 4-H fashion show at 6:30. Wednesday is small animal show, dog show at 6:30. According to the Cherry County Sheriff’s Office, they are again receiving reports from community members that they are receiving phone calls from someone claiming to be an Investigator or Deputy with the Cherry County Sheriff’s Office. An anonymous donor has pledged a 1.5 million dollar match to the proposed Cherry County Events Center, provided the community can come up with another 1.5 million by September 7th. According to organizers they will need to come up with approximately another $900,000 by the deadline to meet the criteria.
