According to Cherry County Attorney Eric Scott, Jessica L. Otte, age 42, of Valentine was convicted Friday, November 17 in Cherry County District Court of one count of Issuing Bad checks, a Class IV Felony, and Felony Theft by Unlawful Taking, a Class IIA Felony.  Otte, a former bar manager at the Vet’s Club in Valentine, took cash from the Vet’s Club and used a debit card belonging to them to obtain money in excess of $11,000 for her personal use.

Otte faces up to 24 years in prison and repayment of the money taken.  Sentencing for Jessica Otte is set for January 19, 2018 in Cherry County District Court.

In a separate matter, Keith C. Botone, of Oklahoma, was convicted of Felony Theft by Unlawful Taking, a class IV Felony.  Botone was arrested in 2014 when a car he was riding in crashed in rural Cherry County near Merriman.  The car had been stolen out of Oklahoma.

Botone faces up to 4 years in prison.  Sentencing for Keith Botone is set for December 15, 2017.
