THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE VALENTINE CITY COUNCIL WAS HELD LAST EVENING. APPROVAL WAS GIVEN TO THE CORNER PUB TO CLOSE SECOND STREET FROM HALL TO MAIN ON SEPTEMBER 23RD FOR A STREET DANCE AND BEER GARDEN FUND RAISER…..APPROVAL WAS ALSO GIVEN TO THE BULL MARKET TO CHANGE LIQUOR LICENSE TO ADD A BACKDOOR INDOOR AREA….AND TO BOLO BEER FOR A CHANGE TO THEIR LIQUOR LICENSE TO INCLUDE A BEER GARDEN.

THE CITIES FISCAL YEAR BUDGET WAS APPROVED WITH VERY LITTLE CHANGE IN THE LEVY AND PROPERTY TAX REQUEST.

SOME DISCUSSION WAS HELD CONCERNING THE FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH THREE RIVER CABLE TV IN VALENTINE….IT WAS DECIDED TO GIVE THEM A THREE YEAR CONTRACT WITH AN ANNUAL REVIEW OF UPGRADES.

ON A THREE TO TWO VOTE, THE CITY APPROVED THE OPERATION OF GOLF CARTS ON SOME CITY STREETS.

NO ACTION WAS TAKEN ON THE TWO ISSUES CONCERNING BANNING ANIMALS AND SOME MOTORIZED VEHICLES ON THE FREDERICK PEAK GOLF COURSE .
