Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin July 17 on N-7, 19 miles south of Ainsworth and extending 6 miles north, R.P. 24.04 to R.P. 36.36, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Werner Construction, Inc., of Hastings, Nebraska has the contract for the $2,820,055 project, which includes milling, asphalt overlay, guardrail repair and rumble strips. There will be a 10-foot width restriction, lane closures will be in place and maintained with flaggers and a pilot car. The anticipated completion date is late September.

The Department of Transportation’s manager for this project is Michael Rudnick of Ainsworth. Motorists can expect delays and are advised to use caution while driving through construction zones.
