Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin May 30 on N-7, 18 miles north of Brewster and extending 6 miles north, R.P. 17+72 to 24+04, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.

Werner Construction, Inc., of Hastings, Nebraska has the contract for the $1,618,538 project, which includes milling, asphalt overlay, bridge and guardrail repair, and rumble strips. There will be a 10-foot width restriction at the Calamus River Bridge beginning May 31 until June 9. Lane closures will be in place and traffic maintained with flaggers and a pilot car. The anticipated completion date is late August.

The Department of Roads’ manager for this project is Michael Rudnick of Ainsworth, Nebraska. Motorists can expect delays and are advised to use caution while driving through construction zones.
