Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin May 1 on Highway 12, eight miles west of Springview, from milepost 40.4 to milepost 51.1, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.
Knife River Midwest of Sioux City, Iowa, has the $2.7 million contract for the project, which includes milling and asphalt overlay of the roadway. Work will also include drainage structures, guardrail repair and rumble strips. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers and a pilot car. Work is anticipated to be completed in late July.
The Department of Roads’ manager for this project is Michael Rudnick, of Ainsworth. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving through construction zones.
