The following matters were heard in Cherry County District Court on March 17, 2017:
Linzy M. Swisher, age 21 of North Platte was sentenced to 3-8 years in the Nebraska State Penitentiary on Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.
Jared M. McEntire, age 28 of North Platte was sentenced to 3-8 years in the Nebraska State penitentiary on Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.
Briant Santos Delgado, of Rapid City, SD, was sentenced to 40 days in jail on a probation violation and ordered to pay $2,816.50 in fines.
Austin Sybrant, of Valentine, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance. Sentencing was set for May 19th.
Andrew Philbrick of Valentine, pled guilty to Burglary in connection with a break-in at Subway. Sentencing is set for May 19th.
Christopher Carr of Crookston pled guilty to 3 Counts of Burglary in connection with break-ins at the Bull Market, Conoco, and Huskerland Communications. Sentencing is set for May 19th.
Jessica L. Otte of Valentine, appeared in Cherry County District Court on March 17 after being bound over from County Court on February 13 of this year. Otte, 42, was arrested on February 9 on a warrant charging one count of unauthorized use of transaction device , a Class 4 Felony, and theft by unlawful taking in amounts greater than $5000, a Class 2 A Felony. Otte waived her right to a preliminary hearing and pled not guilty to charges. The charges stem from allegations that that she had failed to make deposits for over $7000 in receipts from December’s business, as well as additional monies from “pickle card” proceeds, from the Valentine Vet’s Club while employed there. Further it is alleged that she improperly used the debit card of the Vet’s Club bank account at area businesses for purchases and/or cash, as well as to make withdrawals from ATMs.
