The Cherry County Ambulance Service had a significant uptick in calls in 2016, due in large part to the IHS Hospital in Rosebud closing it’s emergency department for several months. This increased the workload for both the Cherry County Hospital and it’s ambulance service which then handled patient transfers for those needing additional care to the airport and other facilities.

During the past year, the ambulance service traveled 10470 miles, responded to 626 total runs, 362 of which were responses to 911 calls.
