Valentine Police Department Week in Review:
November 3-9, 2019
On 11/03/19 at 3:41 pm, an Officer was requested to respond to the 400 block of east highway 20 in regards to a theft. With the aid of witnesses, the suspect was identified and located. A 19 year old South Dakota man was cited for shoplifting.
On 11/06/19 at 11:06 pm, Officers were requested to respond to the 200 block of east 3rd Street to investigate a report of someone promoting prostitution. The investigation is ongoing.
On 11/07/19 at 4:49 pm, Officers from the Cherry County Sheriff’s Office and Valentine Police Department were asked to respond to a “man with a gun call.” Officers were able to check on the welfare of all involved and determined that no further enforcement action was required.
On 11/09/19 at 9:29 pm, Officers were called to the 600 block of north Cherry Street for an intoxicated woman. Officers discovered that two Valentine women, a 27 year old and a 26 year old, had procured alcohol and marijuana for juveniles. During the investigation, Officers located a 24 year old South Dakota man who initially lied about his identity but was later found to have an active Cherry County Warrant. All 3 were arrested.
Officers responded to 96 calls for service this week.
