The Sandhills Area Foundation annual banquet will be held this Saturday night at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine.  Social hour begins at 5:30 with meal, catered by The Peppermill, served at 7pm. The public is invited to attend the event which helps to raise money for foundation scholarships and community grants.  In 23 years the foundation has awarded over $600,000 in scholarships to area students and awarded over $376,000 in grants for community projects. In 2019 they awarded $68,000 in scholarships and $24,500 in grants.

Part of the banquet will include the silent and live auctions with over 70 items donated.  Tickets for the banquet are available at Young’s Western Wear, Security First Bank and Sandhills State Bank. Some of the items on the agenda include chest type freezer, three grills, an autogate, one beef steer, 22.250 rifle, bull semen and handmade tables.
