Valentine Police Department Week in Review:

September 29-October 5, 2019

On 9/30/19 at 11:35 am, an Officer was requested to investigate the theft of minutes from a phone card.  The suspect has been identified and all information has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review.

On 9/30/19 at 3:55 pm, an Officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 4th and Ray Streets.  A 39 year old Valentine woman was cited for a stop sign violation.

On 10/1/19 the Valentine High School requested an Officer assist with an excessive truancy issue.  Following normal excessive truancy procedure, all information was forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review.

On 10/1/19 at 1:35 pm, Officers were requested to respond to the 300 block of North Wood Street to investigate an assault.  Following an investigation, the claims of assault were determined to be unfounded.  At the request of involved parties, the information has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for his review.    

On 10/1/19 at 6:35 pm,  Officers were requested to respond to the 400 block of east highway 20 in regards to an assault.  Officers were notified that the suspect had fled the scene.  A 28 year old South Dakota woman was later located and arrested in connection to this assault.

On 10/2/19 the Valentine Middle School requested an Officer assist with an excessive truancy issue.  Following normal excessive truancy procedure, all information was forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review.

On 10/2/19 at 7:45 pm, an Officer conducted a traffic stop near 4th and Macomb Streets.  A juvenile female was cited for a vehicle registration violation.

On 10/3/19 at 8:30 am, an Officer was requested to investigate the felony level fraudulent  use of a financial transaction device.  The suspect has been identified and an arrest warrant has been requested.

Officers responded to 153 calls for service this week.
