Valentine Police Department Week in Review: July 14-20, 2019
On July 15th at 9:51am, officers received a report of a unknown man attempting to take a car and a baby on west highway 20 within City Limits. A 27 year old South Dakota man was arrested.
On July 17 at 11:30 am, a delayed shoplifting report was filed with the department. Merchandise was taken from Bomgaars. The suspect was identified and a request for a warrant has been made for a 34 year old South Dakota woman. This suspect is being sought for additional shoplifting incidents at other local businesses as well.
On July 20 at 1221 am, Officers received a report of felony level criminal mischief being done to a Rosebud Ambulance that had been parked at a local business for repair. Following an investigation, 2 juvenile males were cited for the damage and released to parents.
On July 20 at 1:39 am, Officers conducted a welfare check on a subject who appeared to be unresponsive in a vehicle in the 300 block of North Wood Street. Following an investigation, a 20 year old South Dakota man was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana and a driver license violation.
On July 20 at 2:31 am, an Officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersections of 5th and Green Streets. Following an investigation, a 23 year old Minden, Nebraska and an 18 year old Valentine woman were cited for possession of marijuana.
On July 20 at 11:36pm, An officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Following an investigation a 21 year old Valentine man was arrested on suspicion of operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
