Bull Bash is back on Main Street in Valentine on Saturday, February 9th.
The 2019 Bull Bash Wine Tasting will be held in Mike’s Market at Second and Main Street. The event provides guests an opportunity to sample a variety of Nebraska wines from Prairie Creek Winery in Central City and Mac’s Creek Winery in Lexington. They will pour samples from 2-4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for six samples. Proceeds from the 2019 wine tasting will benefit the Sandhills Cancer Fund and tickets will be available at the door. The Fun Run/Walk is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 09, 2019. All ages and abilities are encouraged to participate! Cost for the race is $15 (for all ages) and includes a t-shirt if registered by February 3rd.
Registration may be mailed to Heart City Bull Bash P.O. Box 66 Valentine, NE 69201 or returned in person to Sandhills State Bank, Valentine. Race day registration and check in will begin at 10:15 a.m. at the Comfort Inn on February 09. Medals will be awarded to the top male, female, and child under 13
February is also Nebraska 4-H Month, and Cherry County is celebrating by hosting the annual 4-H “Luck of the Draw” fundraiser during the Heart City Bull Bash on February 09. This is the only annual fundraiser for Cherry County 4-H. Money raised supports 4-H programming, trophies, awards, scholarships, exhibitor t-shirts, and project manuals.
Tickets may be purchased on Saturday, February 9th from 10:30 am to 4 pm at the Security First Bank. Choose from the many items you would like to take home and place your tickets in that item’s draw pot for a chance at winning. Ticket sales close at 4 pm and winners will be announced beginning at 4:30 pm.
The 2019 Bull Bash People’s Choice Quilt Show will be at Nelsen Furniture on Main Street in Valentine. Bring your quilt and join in the fun…Quilts of any size, antique or modern, all styles are welcome. Registration starts at 8:30 am but you can bring your quilt in anytime during the day. There will be no entry fees with prizes of first-$25, second-$15 and third-$10 place. Voting by those viewing the show will be held all day until 2:30 pm. Winners will be announced at the 4-H event after 3:30 pm. Please come and cast your vote for your favorite quilt. Call Debby Galloway 402-966-3471 for more information.
Sand Painters Art Guild will have an art show at Sandhills State Bank from 10-4. There will be a vendor show during the day at Connot Brothers Auction facility. For spots in the vendor show contact Jami Qualley at (402) 322-9236.
