Open houses were held yesterday in Valentine for two new housing projects. The projects are both the result of a cooperative effort from Valentine Economic Development, Nebraska Investment Finance Authority and Nebraska DED Rural Workforce Housing funds. A group of interested citizens attended the events at 902 North Queen St and 522 West 3rd St. The Queen street location will be a single family dwelling and the West 3rd St location involves a renovation into a duplex unit. Dick Clark Construction of Valentine will complete the home in Northeast Valentine in the very near future. Sandhills Home Improvement has the duplex ready to put on the market.
The goal is to engage other housing projects when these two are completed and work toward additional rural workforce housing options in Valentine. For more information contact Mike Burge at 402 376 6842.
