Rosebud Reservation Slaying

A man accused of killing a woman on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Lawrence Whipple, age 54 of Mission was accused of stabbing Loretta Waugh to death on February 7. He initially was indicted on a first-degree murder charge and pleaded not guilty. US Atty. Brendan Johnson says Whipple could face life in prison when he is sentenced September 10th.
